My comments.

For the new people to sl, the interface is fantastic! The lindens did an excellent job of making everything nice and easy to find, while still being mildly unobtrusive.

Personally however I dont care much for it, its a definate improvement over the current. It would be nice if the bottom bar wer toggleable with a keystroke like the map and whatnot. The notification popup being in the upper right hand corner is a good start but should be able to be moved once its up. The chat bar tends to cover up the online notifications, which i think should be moveable as well (default position moveable)

My suggestion would be to make the interface scriptable keeping the current 1.2 as the default for new people. This does two things, one makes it possible for everyone to be happy, if you want a change made to your interface and you dont have the skill pay someone who does to do it, which brings me around to point 2. Scriptable interfaces make a whole new market in SL. Skinning/interface customization (down to the radial menu being scriptable and multilevel) would be a vast improvement to sl.

XML definitions for the interface would be great, like they did for EQ. Maybe a way to sell interface skins in-game too? =D

Overall I like it, there are some things I would change but most of them seem to be getting fixed.

I like the overall look of it, the notifier windows are pretty nice(I do agree they are usualy blocked).

From whats been said in the release notes and from looking at the files it looks as though more customization and skinnability is coming, I can't wait for this as changing the colors is already fun for me, so totaly reskinning things should be majorly cool. Most likely it'll be through XML. You could sell them in-world by copying and pasting the code from the files to a notecard maybe.

I would also like the Toolbar to be toggable through a hotkey, and a hotkey for Events (maybe Ctrl+E) and Leaders (maybe Ctrl+L) windows for when the Toolbar is turned off.

:) Its usualy updated daily or so, but you'll have to keep checking the preview page or the anouncements in the forums here for when a update is released as the preview isn't autoupdate.

kinda ugly and bulky

The new interface looks cumbersome with those big blue buttons at the bottom of the screen.

I really like the more stream lined interface of 1.1 - even though the map was changed from 1.0 and such.

It would be nice to have an option of maintaining the original 1.1 interface or using 1.2.

Hopefully the skinning features being implemented will be robust enough to reproduce or approximate the 1.1 interface in 1.2 or beyond. This is going to be something I plan on working on if it doesn't get finished by a Linden or someone else first. :)

I realized that the 'in testing' forum is mostly (at this time) dedicated to the 1.2 interface discussion.

I have compiled a list of problems/suggestions that most people seem to have w/ the new UI.

It's in the intesting forum,

The only significant problems I've had with the new interface are:

- I prefer the buttons at the top
- The kerning on the new font is a bit strange, sometimes letter pairs are too close and other times they are too far apart.
- The inventory text is hard to read when it's bold (selected item)
- The inventory + and - folder indicators are pretty small in that font.
- I don't like the windows able to fall off the edge of the screen, could an option be created in preferences to set this?
- No property status indicators (I assume they're coming just weren't in the preview yet)
- No streaming audio indicator (same assumption)
- No land use / prim use indicator (same assumption)

My biggest gripe:
- llInstantMessage() as dialogs get a thumbs down =(

I do like the overall appearance a bit more for the fact that it'll probably be more attractive to newer and less technical users, but I'd kind of have grown attached to the old snappy mosaic-like interface too =)

Suggestions and Frustrations

The Toolbar should definatly be toggable through a hotkey, and you should be able to choose the number of buttons on it and what they do.

Also, a BIG YES to skinnable.

A simple alphabet search for texture drop box would be nice,
and small texture thumbnails.

When I open camera control and place it on the desktop - it should stay there in that position when I log off and back on.

WHY did you get rid of the "no build" symbol and make it a pop up? Bad! Now I have to try to create something to find out I cant, instead of the quicker knowing I can or cant. Put little symbols - no build - no scripts - damage etc... up on the top menu bar, where you tell us our money amount - there is tons of room for them there!

WORST DECISION:
Who's online Pop-Up in SOLID BOX? Hate it! POP-UPS SUCK!!!!! Especially when they cover any part of the world.

Please give us the ability to turn off/on all of this! PLEASE!!!!!!
