I would like to kick the shit out of the guy who runs it.

It's not just Thai women he seems to hate, it's western women as well. Read his advice to the American woman who wrote in on the homepage. No wonder he disabled comments.

It's this casual misogyny that gets me so down sometimes. I just had to share this.

He does seem pretty enamored with the Thai nightlife...wonder how many minors the pig has jumped on?

I checked out the site. I read a few portions, but I tired of reading it.

Everything in that site contains cliche after cliche that I've had flung in my face by some ignoranus who has tried to offend me based solely on Asian stereotyping. I lived on both sides of the fence. Filipino in America. American in the Philippines. And back again. Both sides have a demeaning perception about the other.

I'd say don't let it get you down. Racists, misogynists only buy into that crap, they need it to keep from accepting how pathetic they are. I just live my life proving them all wrong. The more they see their ways isn't a universal truth, the deeper the spiral goes down for them.

As a young Thai woman who was adopted by white parents as a baby and grew up in a largely white upper-middle-class suburb, it's been hard to choose what sort of "group" I belong to. Intellectually I can say that I am about as white America as you can get except for the Asian appearance, but in my heart I feel at home in Bangkok in a way that I have never felt in America.

And yeah, none of these people are worth my time or effort. It's just these everyday accepted evils that make my jaw drop sometimes. Yes, they are opinions: but I see nothing different between this site and a White Power site.

I read the whole thing and I don't see anything wrong with it. The guy got out of a messy divorce and tried to get back on the scene WAAAAY too soon, and made a number of shitty decisions. What didn't you like about the post?

First of all, where is the condemnation of this recently divorced guy who is obviously incredibly selfish and regards women as objects? "He felt Asian women would be more respectful, not give him a hard time while being sexual 'freaks' in bed as he put it."

I don't understand why this woman is even still with him. It's obvious she's as dumb as he is; and lastly, the guy who runs the site sees nothing wrong with his logic. "Take the relationship slowly"? "He’ll probably improve once the dust from his divorce settles"?

This guy is being waited on hand and foot.

I'm Asian-Avatarian on here, and of some Thai ancestry offline.

I can relate to a "hybridized heritage" myself, because I've never seemed to fit well into any single box, so I end up launching myself into a whole pile of them. "Too tall to be Asian", "Too many melodies and not enough repetition to be techno", "Too passionate to be autistic" are a few of the foolish stereotypes I've been hit with before. I can understand walls being set up, but can also understand wanting to see them broken down. I have had to challenge myself with my perceptions of the world and refresh them anew many a time.

My identity is mixed yet clear and my obligation is to the big picture of the human race. While I have my personal preferences when it comes to interests, I am openminded enough to recognize how much is out there.

Prejudiced individuals who personally attack others are ultimately saying more about themselves than their targets.

Ugh...I am so disgusted by that site Lo. I read some of it and just how demeaning for all women in general. I am all for women's rights and the feminist movement. I have learned from personal experience just how objectified women are and it makes me sick. I recently became a part of Myspace.com and I shit you not but it is a total meat market. I noticed that the majority of the women are asian and latinas. Why do these women present themselves as so? Here is an example of one...but you can just imagine how many there are in Myspace. I decided not to be a part of Myspace.

Having seen this from several angles in my life I have to agree Lo.

When I was in my early 20's, by happenstance, I met a woman from Korea who had been divorced from an American GI a couple years before. She was working on getting her citizenship at the time. I helped her through that phase and we dated simultaneously. Within a few months, she asked if I would like to come and live with her and her daughter. I needed a bit a of time to think about this, which I did. I eventually decided to move in with her, and as a result became immersed in the local Korean community there.

While there were a few girls that I knew who actively used their charms to siphon money from American men (in my mind the idiots deserved it most of the time, as their stereotypical thought process toward Asian gals was usually what led them down this path in the first place), the VAST majority were hard working women, trying to earn a living - a lot of them were attending college at the same time. These girls I speak of were born and raised in Korea, so their road was a bit hard at times what with learning a new language and culture. The great thing is, most of them either owned their own business, were partners in a business, or were working toward that goal. Very industrious, intelligent, and motivated folks, and that goes for the men too.

I saw a lot more of the attitude some American men have that was described in that letter than the way the Thai women are being portrayed (by some). "I like me some Asian pussy!", "They don't talk back.", "They are wildcats in bed", "They do all the chores without complaint.", and the like. Typical stereotypical bullshit.

Even my ex and I parted ways after my father passed away (we were together 7 years, and common law spouses) when I went to help my mom out for what was to be a few months, I am so thankful for having had her in my life. Our time together was one of the high points of my life and I learned a TON from her. The most important thing I learned from her is that this image some men have of a docile, subservient asian "wife" is utter crap.

I can't believe that still, to this day, I have American men asking me if Asian women's anatomy (guess what part ) is horizontal. Fucking morons.

I am really leery of the whole mail order bride explosion, whether they come from Eastern Europe or SE Asia, I fear for them when they get involved with Western men who can't make a relationship work in their own communities. I have heard nothing but nitemare stories and this is just another one to add to the list.

Oh yeah-- Lo: I'm glad someone said what you're saying. As I was reading that letter I was wondering WHY anyone would be interested in a loser like that guy. Especially if what she was saying about herself was true. "a woman who likes to cook"... "very sexual"... "with a job and good education" .... "to take care of him"?
