It's been a while since I started a post so I thought I'd place one today and post a thought I've had as of late.
I have to admit when I began to hear about 1.2 I could only cringe. I understood the reasonings and I understood the needs, but I could only focus on the ways it was going to inconvinience me. I've been around awhile and in that time I had built a tavern in Darkwood I was rather proud of, not to mention fond of. With all of the tweaking and adding I had done to it over the months it had become home. With the new version, I realised it was going to have to come down.
I am lucky, long ago I was put in my spot in Darkwood and little had been built around me for a long time. I never had to deal with the issue of not enough land or not enough prims. Having neither restriction I had done something without knowing it.
The ability to see how many prims you used was put into place and I discovered I was sitting on almost 4,000 prims. I honestly had no idea what I had done.
While I was sad to see my old tavern go I realised why it was necessary. Who knows how many others have unknowingly used more then their fair share of resources.
Of course I had to build a smaller version of the tavern to replace my old and in doing so I remembered the fun of SL. It had been ages since I had to do a real build and frankly, I am quite happy with what I have come up with.
So, in conclusion, my view of the restrictions has changed. I understand, and in some ways, look back and appreciate, the necessary evil.
Nothing ever stays the same in FL, and nothing ever stays the same in SL... thank heavens for that.
