Anyone here know what they are? Just kinda hit me suddenly here that there may be people with an interest in these book/show/topics...so why not ask??
The first is from Chinese war history and the second is Korean...but much less widespread. (It's a series from a group of series based in Korea, starting with "Emperor Wang Guhn".)
Ring any bells for anyone? I know there's gotta be at least one Kingdoms fan here...that one is BIG. (Very popular book, probably at least two DOZEN games which are spinoffs or related to it, a rather old 'anime' type show, an (odd) tv series as well... )
Hopefully someone's more into the subject than playing one of the Dynasty Warriors games....hehe...
OH! And John Woo is said to be planning a RTK movie within the next few years. W00T!

Well, on a related note, I have read several versions of The Water Margin ( aka All Men Are Brothers or Outlaws of the Marsh), which deals with the 108 Stars of Heaven and Earth, and their battle against corrupt government officials. It takes place sometime after the events of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Medieval China was a really odd, interesting place. I have a couple friends who're seriously into the whole Three Kingdoms thing... I mean, they've got all the Dynasty Warriors and Three Kingdoms games for the PS2, and one of them somehow managed to get his hands on an entire TV series based on it.

Hehe, we've got almost everything related here, including two versions of the book itself (what is it like 900 pages unrevised?) My brother has read Outlaws of the Marsh (title I'm familiar with) and seems more into that than RTK which I find disturbing. I mean come on, which time period/story has 20 games/books/series about it and which isn't that well known? It is an interesting history in that area...I'm really surprised more people here aren't familar with this stuff. Back then they may have had some long periods of peace but when they go wild over there, they really go nuts. Makes good stories I guess. Then there's also the Oda/Uesugi/Takeda/etc. Japanese warring period which is fairly popular. I'm waiting for that to break more into the popular realm but it still hasn't done so like RTK has. The period is very similar to the time period that movie "Ran" is based in, and that is popular...

Reviving an old thread to see if anyone new picks up on it! Weee C'mon, I'm really surprised the fanbase for this topic isn't here. I thought the general "SL population" knew about everything!
