Now, I've noticed all the whining about v1.2, well, if that's what they're going to do, how can we make sure they get it right and keep them from pulling this type of thing again? I don't think all the whining is going to stop them, it didn't on the taxes issue... I had my own suggestions, belows the link (why repost)! /invalid_link.html--- Trimda Hedges

Ditch it.
The basis of 1.2 is fine, remove the bonus/stipend system and the base of the tax system, and replace it with "You pay this much, you get this much base". Add on top of this the prim allocation based upon land ownership.
All the rest of 1.2? Ditch it. It destroys the game.
You should still be able to progress beyond your monthly fee in the same fashion that exists now. We don't need to change that. It is "the game" so to speak.
Many of us work hard to support projects which are larger than our monthly fees.
1.2 has very little to do with what is 'needed in the world'. It has to do mostly with money. They need more recurring revenue. They're wrapping this fact up in the fact that resource allocation needs to be fixed.
There are plenty of ways to fix the problems at hand without what they're proposing. In fact, they've already been in testing (see: Olive).
Indirect information leads to the fact that Linden Labs has financial trouble which will lead to the end of SL mid 2004 under the current system. Philip Linden did invalidate this at the meeting last night, however. So these reports cannot be confirmed.
