Someone, I don't remember who, had in their signature, "I'm a twit, what's a twit?"
I stumbled across it doing a web search on obscure facts (Yeah, I am at work and bored)
A twit is a pregnant goldfish.

Human hair and finger nails continue to grow after death.
Actually I've heard this has been proven false. There is no bodily process alive that will continue to make hair and fingernails grow. This is actually caused by the skin pulling back on the fingers making more of the fingernails appear. The hair is something similiar , let me see if I can find a link or two about this: http://www.snopes.com/science/nailgrow.asp http://www.rwjhamilton.org/Atoz/hl/sp/home/alert01202005.asp http://www.aaronelkins.com/forensictidbits.htm |

Great book if you're interested in forensics. He's worked some very well known historical cases. (Anastasia Romonov, Francisco Garza, et al.) The skin pulls back from the nails and the scalp sort of 'deflates' due to the body losing moisture, making the nails and hair look longer. _____________________

He's worked some very well known historical cases. (Anastasia Romonov, Francisco Garza, et al.) That book sounds familiar. Didn't it have a chapter about the preserved body of a turn-of-the-century outlaw that was rediscovered as a funhouse* "prop" in the 1970's? They figured something was amis when the arm came off and the "dummy" had bones. Surprise! *The Laff-in-the-Dark ride at the Long Beach Pike in Ca _____________________

I've read it before and it is cool. Too bad the author is such a dullard.

WHAT! That's insane! Wow, I need to read that book. Fascinating! Here's a link about the story, Lo. Funhouse Mummy Ironically, the pic of his mummy included in the link was probably taken in his early days. By the time he made it to the funhouse (60+ years later!), he was coated with thick (neon orange) paint and looked more like a serene paper mache than a dead guy. Still, this ranks as one of the most bizare things I've ever heard. His biography, includes his detailed post mortm travels. _____________________
