Events and boredom..

Ok so I rarely post in the forums but I noticed some people are not happy with the events that have been going on lately. So I am open to suggestions. Thinking of an event that people will actualy show up to is not an easy thing to do. Alot are sexy this or that events because 1. all people have to do for a sexy this or that event is dig through their inventory and find something to wear. 2. I have tried thinking of other events. I used to hold trivia events or other events along that line and people dont show.
So im open to suggestions as soneone who does event hosting on a regular basis.

events i sometimes attend are:

anniversary & birthday parties - not very often, but occassionally (non-sponsored of course)

contests - especially building contests (usually linden sponsored)

discussions - people will sit around and talk about anything (non-sponsored)

games - geniune games i.e. bingo, jeopardy, primtionary (usually sponsored)

grand openings - or maybe i should say original openings (non-sponsored)

show & tell - sponsored or not, this is a great way to see new items and be inspired

I used to attend a Battle of the Sexes trivia. It was fun but it stopped one day. I've wanted to attend primtionary but I fear I'd balk if I had to do the prim work. I also liked one game which was word hunt.

I attended a Best Kid AV last night. It was fun being a pint-sized brat. But I like having all the kiddie details, some just minimize themselves. That's boring.

Other events that I thought looked fun but didn't have a chance to attend were the ejecting chairs, being hunt down by one person, and floating around in a ball. I make no sense. I need more coffee.

I attended one of the snapshot contests at Laka(sp) last week some time and that was pretty cool. Players submit 1 or 2 unedited in-world snapshots and everyone votes on each image using the monitor voting system. Donnie Donovan was host. It was at noon so it was rare for me to be able to go, one in the evening around 9 or 10 (game time) would be nice.

I think an art gallery opening would be a great idea. The artist/person who was holding the event could talk about what inspires them, what materials/programs they use, and if it's a venue they could talk about different SL artists ... I just know I'd be there.

I love discussion group events, like Thinkers. Primtionary is usually a whole lotta fun. Trivia can sometimes be fun.

Again, it's the folks that make a great event, and sitting there watching people move around without talking is NOT an event. Nobody has any enthusiasm anymore; you have to dig around and find the right people for it.

I suggest you attend one of the Tringo games which you will find in the events listing. Its a brand new game by Kermitt Quirk and is a bit like tetris but not There are lots of us addicted to the game so try one out.
