Okay, I just ran across a review of Singles - a new computer game that looks like, well, all the worst things about dating in one package! I guess its for those Sims addicted folks who wanted to do a bit more shagging, but it's just beyond me why anyone would buy this!

I'm sure people will inevitably buy it because of the voyeuristic aspect and the added realism of nudity and sex beyond what the Sims does.
But jeez - could they be any more shameless about ripping off the Sims? The interface and even the website are a direct knock-off, just a bit uglier. I'm surprised Maxis / EA hasn't clamped down on this one. |

That interface looks too much like The Sims. Will Wright should head over to the offices of whoever created this clone, and personally administer a wedgie to everyone in sight.

This is a German game, I think its more geared to getting laid than it is earning skill points. I was going to give it a look just to see what it was about, but the manufacturer pulled the demo. It might still be offered at some sites, but if the manufacturer doesnt want it out there I dont need to see it.
*edit. I see they offer one hour free play. They pulled it from the site I get my demos. Im not interested enough to try it now that I had forgot about it previously. Has anyone played it? Impressions? |

Thank gawd I have 1.5Mbps transfer speeds, or else the download would have taken longer then the time I was able to play. It SCREAMS ripoff. The voices are almost identical to The Sims style, and it "feels" like its based off the same goofy engine. I wasnt able to get the roomys to make out before the 1-hour was up though  The camera controls took awhile to get used to. You need to use the arrow keys as well as the mouse if you even remotely want to get a good view of anything. What else do you want to know?  |
