Not seeing any J-Music groups?

Yo. I haven't been here long, but I've been looking for any groups or people who like Japanese Music and/or Street Fashion, and I'm not finding anything or anyone. I wonder if I'm just not looking in the right places, if these people are all hiding or if indeed there just aren't any people in SL who are interested in such things.

I'd be surprised if there weren't any J-Music liking people, but I can't even find any mention of Gackt, and if you're reading this, you can probably understand why that's surprising to me. o_o; It just seems odd to me that there are so many anime people here and no one seems to know anything about Angura-kei or Shibuya-kei.. or ANY type of Japanese music, for that matter.

I -did- find an EGL group, which is good, but is there anyone out there who likes any sort of J-Music, preferably Angura-kei? And if so, want to start a group? :D?

[ By the way, I don't know if this is really the right Forum for this. So.. Sorry if it isn't. ._. ]

Hello! :) I would be interested in learning more about j-music. I have been an anime fan for many years and recently started a shoutcast station featuring anime music. Over the past several months I have more and more j-music titles to the station. It's really just for my personal entertainment while I work at my home in Orient (70,200). Stop by and say "hello". I'm always interested in learning more about the genre and meeting people who share my likes. :D

I will certainly stop by sometime! :D What artists are your favorite? I know anime music is mostly J-Pop, and I admittedly don't know much about J-Pop, but I'm interested to know what you like the most in particular so maybe I can give you some recommendations? ^^

There's some fans of Visual Kei about, but the issue is most non-Japanese (and most Japanese) fans of that particular genre are all 15 and bouncing. Which isn't to say I don't own sizable ammounts of it, I do, it's just the fanbase is very young for it, usually.

Even more rare are fans of the Japanese noise/noise rock scene. I think there's only two other people I've met familiar and into Merzbow, Aube, Boredoms, Ruins, etc.

Yes, Shonen Knife kicks ass. And I'll add Guitar Wolf and Pizzicato Five to that list. The 5,6,7,8's were in Kill Bill, right?

Yep Thr 5,6,7,8's were in Kill Bill volume 1. The DVD extras has an interesting story about how they came to be in the film, as told by Quentin himself. He was shopping in a clothing store in Tokyo (I think it was), and the 5,6,7,8's were playing o nthe store radio. Well he loved what he was hearing and bought the CD right off the guy behind the counter. He said that if he hadn't bought that CD right then and there he would have totally forgot. I guess someone should buy Quentin a PDA ehh? LOL

Eurgh.. Melt Banana and Shonen Knife.....

Mad Capsule Markets are good, though, even if I don't listen to them much. I like that one song.

My favorite bands are metronome, TRICERATOPS, POLYSICS, D[di:], Doping Panda, guruguru eigakan, baroque, Yum! Yum! ORANGE, Plus-Tech Squeeze Box, YMCK, Közi... and 175R is good every once in a while.

OH. And Dokusatsu Terrorist. <3

VK annoys me for the most part, although there are always exceptions. I still think Merveilles is one of the best albums of all time. And baroque was good when they were VK, too, although I liked them better towards the end.

I haven't listened to Pizzicato 5. They're Shibuya-kei, right? Or am I confusing them with someone else? I've heard their name around a lot, but never downloaded anything.
