I recently lent 2100$L to someone I misstook for a friend (yeah go me!) and recently I find out this person left the game and may not return at all.
Way to go you <Censored> you are old enough to play this game you are old enough to sort out your finances before leaving.

Go you!

Ok rant over

A guy named Doug Marker did this to me a couple months back...

I loaned him 3k for his land....weeks later, he logs on. I IM him...he ignores me, he logs off. Another week later, he logs on again, ignores me, logs off. I went to his land, all sold....

Now SL has no record of his account name. He quit. We all get screwed, just takes a good nip in the ass to realize, NOT EVERYONE HERE IS A FRIEND.

Good rule of thumb: never loan money you cannot afford to part ways with *forever*.

It's probably a good rule to never 'loan' money, but make charitable contributions with no expectation of it being paid back.
