Newb Shopping Question

Hi!

I've been spending most of my time on SL so far picking up clothes, as I'm sure many people do.

When I put on some clothes and objects, they work just fine. Other times I just get a box on my head with the picture of whatever I just purchased. Did I get ripped or is there some trick I need to know?

Clothes are often sold in a box, since a box can hold multiple items. You can tell you received a box because it generally goes into your Objects folder, instead of your clothing folder. What you need to do is take the box out of inventory and set it on the ground, then right click on the box and select Edit. A window will pop up - click the More>> button on it to show the tabs, and you will see Content. Click on that and it will show you what is in the box. You can drag each of the items from the Content window into your clothing folder in inventory. Once you take everything out, you can delete the box. If it warns you about removing items breaking the box, don't worry - you can actually turn off that message (it gives you the option to not show it again). Hope this helps

What you want to do is drag the box from your inventory to the ground, right click it and select "edit" on the menu that comes up, then click the More>> button on the window that pops up. *deep breath* Then click the "contents" tab and drag the items you see there into whichever folder you like in your inventory.
