Okay my system
Graphics card Nvidia 6800 GT 128mb
CPU AMD 64 3400
Memory 1024
Hard drive sata 160gb
Audigy 2 sound card
ADSL 2mb line
Now I would have thought my system could handle SL

but its running slower than a tortoise even at 800-600

any tips :)

You may want to post this in the Technical Issues thread:

/111/1.html

The people who frequent that thread should be able to help ya. ;-)

Check your SL preferences it sounds like you have all the options set which in essence will bog down the best video cards thus in turn slowing down your system as well as it has to wait on the card.

I have a 256 meg vid card and I still cannot run all actions at full bore.

Cut down your draw distance and reduce visable particles and turn off lights n shadows

Use the Overide sun command to keep the world lit up if you want daylight and stay out of lag infested sims.

Bout the best advice I can offer.
