What kind of desks does everyone have? Bonus points if you can provide a picture
We have a L shaped desk at our house and the keyboard tray is always breaking. I got a cheapy desk at target too for another computer, but that tray is to little ( no room for a mouse)

Oh my, my desk is quite the mess... its a combination of papers/napkins with electronics all over. Its a desk from uhmmm Sears I think, fake wood, straight, it was meant as a computer/office desk. Right now its pretty much a home entertainment system holder, I'm surprised it hasn't fallen appart. It has the flat desk surface, then on one side a keyboard pull out thing with room for a chair underneath, to the right of that theres a slide out drawer with a small shelflike thing under it and a printer drawer under that. Above the desk surface on the right side theres room for stuff but my TV fits perfectly there (small 15-17 inch I think), so I put that in that spot, above that theres a small shelf in which I have CD's and old tapes I never watch, above *that* theres a long shelf that extends across the rest of the desk, that has my VCR, Digital TV box, PS2, and CD player on it. I couldn't find a picture online.

Here's my desk. If you notice, it's quite messy. This is a phenomenon that occurs in any part of the house that I actually think in. The rest of the place is pretty clean. Pretty crappy desk. Complete with printer, this thread on the monitor, my oh-so-loved full-spectrum light, and a mysterious calico cat.

Probably wont work for what you want but I stumbled onto the single BEST desk for my office ever at Office Depot! Its an 8 foot by 3 foot FOLDING TABLE! 20 bucks I think and sturdy as a rock! Wife and kid wouldnt go for such a minimalist approach though so they had traditional desks, till they fell apart! Now they have the same 8x3 folding tables like dear ol dad! Plenty of space, and TONS of leg room for my 6'5" frame! maybe you arent as cheap as me? just a thought though

My desk consists of three folding tables of the caterer's variety, with sturdy metal legs, set up in an L shape. Folding tables are the way to go, if you don't worry about having drawers . Zana

Proper tables/desks are definately the way to to go - I've got a traditional-style office/writing desk. It's basically a big, flat, sturdy surface which is all I require for PC work - I don't rate the whole "PC workstation" style cheapie-kits. Didn't cost too much as it was second-hand, weighs a tonne, but at least it keeps my PC gear off the ground
