I'm not a person who likes to ask for help. "Independent" is a nice way of putting it. "Mule-headed" may be closer to the mark.

But I cannot figure out how to shed my "guest" designation. The cryptic documentation tells me to register, but I can't see how to get any more registered than I already am.

Input?

Did you sign up for an SL trial account? It may be that the "guest" designation goes away after your trial has ended, and your permanent account is established. Just guessing...

If you're still within your 7 day trial period, even if you've switched to a paid account, you'll show as a guest until your trial period is over.

use pull down Menu

go to "User Control Panel"

Left side has list of options

Signature and more just browse through till you find what you need and fix it.

I turned the control panel inside out before I first posted. Unless there's something glaringly obvious there that I'm missing, that's not it either.

It's not you. The forums, dey is broke. Lindens told me about the seven day trial thing nine days ago. I'm in my third week, and I can't get the thing to work either.

Not a high priority, because I've turned in a bug report or two, can't remember which.
