a friend of mine showed me, no joke...........58 ghosted avs visible from where she was standing the other day.

that's alot of ghosts.

Thats people with invisibility prims. they only show your attachments.

Um, no.....

Thats the asset server acting up.... Neither of those av's were wearing such devices...

I know this for a fact because moments before that, I was unable to be seen by others in on my island simulator...

It has to be ghosts in the machine....

Sometimes it's a bug. A friend shows up all invisible and they can see themselves but you can't see 'em.

To fix: change your currently active Group. Sounds funny, but it works. (I don't know why though -- would someone care to share, please?)

Interesting! I'll try that, this happens to me ALL the time, so annoying !

I also found asking the invisible AV to use Appearance mode for a second or two works as well.

No. It really isnt. I doubt any of those 58 were. It's a bug thats existed in SL forever and gets better or worse with every release. Thought lately everything just seems to be getting worse.

I had a double whammy the other day. First I was textured with my login screen from head to toe - skin, clothes and all. Which looks awfully weird. Then it turned out I was invisible tool. Just going into appearance mode didn't fix it. I had to adjust something for each part of my body and then that part would revert back to normal. Spooky stuff.

they definitley weren't people with invis prims on. every one of them was a full on avatar hanging in the sky. the weird thing is they weren't all at sim borders like i thought they would be and they weren't even all at the outside edge of the view distance. they were however all flying......

I could produce a similar picture by using the debug menu, you can turn off avatar rendering.

I bet the photographer knows that too

most times, in the past 7 days, when I log on to SL and usually spawn at the WA my Avi and all the others look like the ones in your picture.. if I stay there.. the game will crash...but if I'm quick enough to quit the game as the ghost issue happens and then log in again... all is fine

Another quick fix for the whole invisible avie thing is to go into appearance mode. Usually you appear to others immeidately after doing so. I had this happen several times over the past few days and it has become really annoying. The above always seems to help rather than the hassle of relogging.
