Eugene, Maybe a better way of going about this would be to just ask the question....What would bring you to Neaultenburg?

I don't think there was a checkbox for what my feelings regarding Nberg are.

I welcome the fact that they set up a city-state. Whether it succeeds or fails, we will all learn form it. I honestly appreciate that, because, beyond any philosophical differences I may share with some Nberg members, a service is a service, and they are doing us all a service by testing the waters for us.

This is not to say that I would fall in line if Nberg was/is/becomes a success, even long term, in other words, I will still not welcome attempts to create any user conceived, SL main grid spanning systems. I would however, eagerly welcome portions of sims, entire sims or groups of sims, be they main grid based or otherwise, that would operate as areas of localized, governmental self-determination. Complete with theming (zoning) and other aspects of local civil cooperation. I may even join one, when and if that day comes. If I find a good fit.

I become less indifferent when SL wide player devised, governmental layers are discussed and indeed sometimes expressed by a clear minority in an almost threatening manner. That does not represent how I would prefer to see a those entrusted with devising such a sytem perform. I don't think I am the only one who feels this way, which is why I view city-states, or countries eventually (as long as non-player governed or zoned areas exist), as a viable solution. It has been clearly demonstrated on these forums, that a good deal of those who post to the contrary (against SL wide government) respond with a bit of justifiable apprehension. It is after all "Your world, your imagination", right? I find that this basic metaphor for what SL is intended to be, is very appropriate. It's also my blade of grass, and I ain't lettin' go... :)

Do whatever you like within your groups, affiliations, and the confines of your (figurative your) land, and please afford me that same tolerance, whether I be a cowboy drifter in no man's land, a citizen of an SL city-state, or a rattlesnake, like the one on the Gadsden flag :P
