Now updated to v8 for Second Life 1.5.

Instructions:
  1. Go to app_settings\ in your Second Life folder (most likely C:\Program Files\SecondLife\app_settings\)
  2. Unzip the attached COLORS.INI into this folder, overwriting the existing one
  3. (re)start Second Life
    [/list=1]

    Enjoy!

Oooh... you willing to make a blue-violet color scheme? I suck at this stuff. ;)

It's actually pretty simple, Ghoulie. If you check out Ezhar's script, he's commented out most of the lines, along with instructions on what to change to get the desired effect. Check it out, it's good. :)

not bad ez... i woulda gone for a more muted dark green for sliders/scroll etc but other than that its lookin great. MUCH better than the 'death' color-scheme we're straddled with... i'm still tweaking my burgundy and purple one abit myself

Remember, for easier tweaking use the offline colors.ini editor found in this thread

Just in case someone missed it on the Technical Issues forum:

If you are crashing on startup with 1.2.5

If you are crashing on startup with 1.2.5, and you have edited your UI colors, make sure you have the following line included in your color.ini file.
PropertyColorForSale 255 128 0 102

This new property makes an orange outline around land for sale, but didn't make it into the release notes.

*bump*

There is a new PropertyColorForSale property they added, but it already appears to be there in the latest version Ezhar posted.

Where is the Mac version of colors.ini?

Am I doomed to a drab black UI forever?

Kathy, it's in the SL Application package.

Go into your Applications folder and find the Second Life application.

Ctrl-click it and select "Show Package Contents".

A new Finder window will pop up with the contents of the Second Life app package. Go into

Contents/Resources/app_settings/

There's colors.ini!

I haven't tried it yet. Make a backup first! :P
