Did anybody else notice Maroon this morning?

Today around twelve noon (EST), 'Maroon' showed itself in the NE corner of the World map. Topography and the whole nine yards. Suddenly vanished. Any ideas?

Its gone right now, but it has been on the grid for a few days. I tried to teleport there but, of course, there was no place to land.
It was located a couple of sim grids away from Olive, above Slate, I think. It is interesting looking on the map. Looks like it will be part of a larger region that forms a peninsula. It has water on the north and south borders.

That's my new sim. I got an email from Linden Lab a couple days ago saying they got my check for a whole sim worth of land allotment and they were working on getting it ready for me. Yeah. That's it. Hey, look at that! *runs*

I noticed it too, and then out of curiosity (hmm I should be careful with that), I tried zooming out and scrolling around. I noticed that I could scroll out quite a distance, and it took me just as long to scroll back. It looks like the map is pretty much unbounded, so who knows if other sims could be hiding out there =)
Also, I frequently see Lindens out in the middle of the ocean =)

Noticed Maroon about 3 or 4 days ago. Noticed it wasn't up this morning though, so who knows. Could be a testing area for future sim tweeks.

It seems Maroon is likely one of the new "3-10 sims" that Philip mentioned would be coming online for 1.2.
And, the attached map from June 19 shows a row of expansion sims that line up with Chartreuse along the northern continent. And there happen to be 10 of them.
Perhaps perhaps...

I remember that map Bino. When I saw Maroon the other day, I swore I thought it was on grid "E" instead of how it is pictured on "F".

Just another 'me-too' ... I've also wondered if there might be other secrets out beyond the edges of the map.
Did anyone else get a kick out of a sim named 'maroon,' among all the other color sims, that wasn't connected to anything? Hee hee hee ...

The prelude islands aren't visible on the in-game map but they are on the (out of date) world map you can get to on the Resident Life page.
