I know, it's been stated at a town hall that custom gestures are probably comming, but in the long run. What I didn't get answered though was if you already have a system planned and implemented, or if you're looking for ideas.

I really think I have a good idea as to how it should be implemented but I don't wanna go through and explain it if you guys already have a system ready ;) So, reply, lemme know, thx :)

We've done some structural work on streaming animations, so that if you create/upload one it works correctly. So that you can get new ones in the same fluid way that you get textures, etc. So that part I think we have a handle on.

A more open question (to us) is the balance between uploading from other formats (Poser, etc) versus trying to provide cool in-world tools to actually create/edit anims. We tink the latter could be very cool, but an interesting issue.

Finally, there are certainly lots of questions as to permissions, exchanging them, ratings, etc.

Yay! Thanks for the reply Philip, that was exactly the method I was expecting you guys to take, so I'm glad to hear it!
As far as Poser/in-world tools, yeah, I'd have to agree that the latter is what we need. Unless you wanted to give us all a discount on Poser, maybe you can make a deal with them or somthing ;)
Permissions: "Somthing is asking to take over your avatar movement." works just fine for me.
Exchanging: Have it work like a sound. It has its own little icon that, when you double click it from the inventory, puts the gesture on you. Since it's a transfer of data (like sound) have llPreloadGesture("bla";) and all the rest.
Rating: I don't think we really need a gesture rating, since it seems to me to be one of the things people could easily sell (I know I sold a bunch of those items that made you dead, sleep, and surf).

Anyone else wanna voice their opinion? Philip might be reading... :D
