I tried it out a bit last night and I love it, the game is very beautifull, and the FPS is amazing, inside a town full of other users I had literly 0 lag, my FPS was up in the 60's. Downloads are fast, game play is smooth and easy to get a handle on (atleast for me so far), running actualy gets you places fast (I've always hated how running actualy meant walking, and walking meant crawling in MMORPG's), and my character is very shiny

.

Hopefully it will actualy be no-monthly-fee as they say it is when it comes out.

You can see your character reflected in water too.

It's true that there will never be a monthly fee. Instead they plan to release expansion packs every 6 months or so at apx 29.99 US each... which works out to less than $5 US per month... a typical rate when you buy months in blocks, right? However, if you don't want an expansion you can still play, which is nice.

I just tried it today.. wow. They stream the world as well, so now SecondLife isn't the only one. I think the main difference is that the streams aren't in real-time, but are qued and streamed as you play.

And the combat system! Yay for derailing the treadmill! I think this take on a skill-based system will be very fun, especially when it comes to team-based matches.

And yes.. the graphics and engine are supreme. I will most likely be playing this one when it comes out.

Anyone else tried it? They started the open alpha preview early.

I was able to get to the 5th mission with a 6 person team

Oh and after playing that demo im running out and preordering the game. My name in the game is Ryen Jade (Ryen I use for most games except FPS games, and since we need 2 names, why not!)

I'm playing.

Just won the second co-op mission too! Crap that's hard! You have to go slow at the end and not get 10000000 things annoyed at once. Also there's trebuchet-like thingys you can use for the final part.

This game is AMAZINGLY stable for an ALPHA isn't it? I haven't had any problems (aside from some camera control annoyances...and even SL has that.)

The technology seems to be the same SL uses too. Coolness...

You probably get a 6 person team after you get enough missions done. I guess..

Char I made is Corya Telyn...I wanna kill stuff with SLers! My AIM is Eventine77 if anyone wants to team up.

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

It's a pretty awesome game... and stable for an alpha? It's the old guys from Blizzard... they're known to be incredibly knit-picky when it comes to their games.

Anyhow, I'm definitely playing. My char right now is Raithe Vicious. See you all around.

haha....on the 4th one now, man it gets harder. lol

Just figured out there's a friends list, add "Corya Telyn" and find me er something (even though I still don't know how it works). I can jump back to an older mission...

I think the 2nd one is a pain though, it's hard to get back in time if it's the one I'm thinking of. I think you have to take a more direct route back, if you go back the way you came you don't make it in time. I'm still not sure which way to go to get back to the beginning in time.

Arena is great.

Solo bolsters some of the most amazing scenery. I love all the destruction. You can feel the desolation. It's truly remarkable.

I'm definitely playing this when it goes retail. How many bets that it will be delayed?

yeah.. but this game is coming from the guys who developed warcraft II, starcraft, the diablo games, etc. They're famous for delaying games. I bet they delayed them purposefully to create even greater demand.
