How can you tell if someone has left SL?

I was going thru my calling cards and found a few people who didn't show up when I typed their names in the "find people" menu (no, the online button was not checked). Does this mean they've left the game?

Next time you see them in world ask them.. LOL im too funny! i think it does but there are some people that have been suspended that never show up in the find thing.

Prolly. have you tried leaving IMs for them and seeing if anything comes back?

For what I know Olympia, if you stop paying your monthly fee, your name will no more appear if someone do a "find" for it. It's the case of at least a couple of persons that I know, wich believed they have been abandoned by their partners, cause their name didn't appear on a search and made my shoulder wet of cries, just to see the partners pop-up in perfect health some hours after

Actually it's someone I'm trying to avoid. Not a feud situation or anything, just that this avitar consistantly creeped me out with his/her innapropriate behavior. (Didn't cancel the calling card because I could see this av spamming me with IMs or alt stalking me.)

You know when their land scanners stop lagging the sim. Oh wait, they lag forever if they are lifetimers or beta members. Eek, lol!

Neg rate them. See if they neg back.

Well, if they're on your pisslist (a grade lower than S-list) and they seem gone, the shrug it off and find better people to fill in the missing space. Like me!

In my experience, Ale is quite right. The times I've checked the land belonging to people who can no longer be found in the finder, the land has always gone up on auction or been released to the public. It seems to take about a month for the land to go public (seemingly if it's under 512 m2 in size), and perhaps a month and 2 or 3 weeks for it to go up on auctions.


If they're annoying you, Olympia, I hope they are no longer on the SL 'book of life.'

You can also see when they were last online.

Check their profile, click on one of the groups that they are in, most groups will let you see the members list. Find them on that list and next to their name you can find the last time they logged on

Like they said before , just delete his/her calling card and ignore him/her in the future and fill in the missing spots with some nice people.

Hmmm I can't really say. There are alot of people still in find that do not and have not played SL for a really long time. I can say this because while being half asleep, I've accidentally paid the wrong person twice lol. The first time the lindens refunded the money and the second time it was pretty much "sorry but you're screwed, don't be an airhead next time". It was put to me in a much nicer way lol . So yeah, I don't really know how you can tell anymore, sometimes the person is no longer there and sometimes they still are.

i believe that if i stop paying my monthly fee (not), my account will be relegated to basic status with no tier and still show up in find. then my land will appear as auction land after several, and i mean SEVERAL, weeks.

i have to actually cancel the account for my profile to go away. some people's profiles disappear and reappear regularly though so don't be fooled. they're either lindens, the victims of a very selective bug, or they've hacked the system somehow.

Has anyone seen Bhodi?

Bhodi has been busy with several pressing needs in RL. She has popped on every now and then to say hello and answer IMs.

When I had my account temporarily suspended for lack of payment (forgot to switch its credit card info) my accounts name disappeared from the find people thingie, but when I paid, it went back to the find thing just fine. So they may have just forgotten to leave money on the credit card for SL and are temporarily suspended.
