I dont know if it was intentional or not, But "Light" prims with a dark color, seem to make a weak negitave lighting effect now.
This is not a bug. its actually a feature, In most 3d environments you can make lights that are actually neg lights, or a shadow caster... etc.

Lets say you wanted one room to be real bright, but the ones next to it dark, one would most likely use neg lights to get rid of the unwanted light bleeding through the walls.
"although they dont seem to be powerfull enough atm"

At any rate, this may or may not be the issue people are experancing. If you have any light prims of a dark color.. Or the so called, "light shutoff script" that actually just changes the color of the prim, Thats prolly whats causing your darkness issues.

Hmmm, just tried a black cube with light material.. didn't do it.

Are you sure you are using ctrl-shift-n to activate the sunrise? It's no longer alt-n..

I knew that about the signatures, Blaze, but not till aas of yesterday, lol, when somebody mentioned someone else's icon and I realized there was a whole lot I wasn't seeing. Found the place to change it so now I see siggies and icons.

Yeah. I mention it because people tend to post in hopes of using their signature space for advertising.

LL has wisely removed this incentive.

black lights made things darker in 1.5 too. it's not new but it doesn't work for everybody (video card differences?)
