Announcing the commencement of the Second Annual Second Life Community Holiday Tree.

What it is:

A Holiday tree decorated by residents of SL. Each member or group is invited to create an ornament for the tree. When you name your ornament, make sure your name is in the description so we can see who made what.

If you feel inclined, you can also decorate the area around the tree. Last year people made snow for the ground, snow falling, nutcrackers, a train, a fire with marshmallows to roast, hot chocolate, music and more. The ornaments were mezmerizing and wondrous things.

You don't have to be a talented builder or scripter to build. Anything that is reflective of you or your group's personality will be enjoyed by all. Newbies--feel free to put up cube ornaments! lol.

If anyone wants to post pics of last year's tree, feel free. I'll find mine and post a few later.

We'll be putting the tree in Clyde this week, so you can start brainstorming now. This is a non-profit venture. There will be nothing for sale at the tree site, but you can make your contributions copyable if you wish.

God forbid that I be considered a Scrooge with a bah-humbug attitude, but there's something about this that bothers me.

Its not the idea of a community Christmas tree that I object to. In fact, I think its a splendid idea, and I wish there were more community projects like this.

What bugs me is that it ain't even Halloween, and we're already supposed to be doing xmas stuff.

Come on!!!! At least let me figure out how to build a jack-o-lantern in SL before we start going ho-ho-ho.

So, Ace, just put your Jack'O Lantern on the Christmas tree.
