Nash is back!

Hey guys! Long time no see!

I was just sitting at my desk looking outside and I realized, damn it's been almost a year since I started SL! I wonder how everyone is doing!?! I wonder how SL has evolved, I just got hit with the SL spirit that had hit me about a year ago!

So how are you guys at LL doing? Keeping busy? I see alot of new facesaround the forums. For ppl who are like... who is this guy? You can't even pick Nash as a last name anymore! For those of you who don't know me, i'm a beta guy, started playing SL about a year ago and stoped about 1 month before gold due to personnal reasons. I was THE sim crasher... well #2 beside Nada and BBC, I made the lightsaber, I modded the rockets so they would shot you into space, I was the one who gave the grid monkeys the headache! I was the one that Haney, Phil, Phoenix, Andrew would IM me... "Nexus.. did you do that?"

I must admit I still don't have much time on my hands, but I would love to see you all again! I have been thinking of getting a month while i'm on holidays, have a good old talk with the Lindens as I used to have (Andrew,Doug,Phoenix,Haney,Char). I have been reading the forums hoping to see some old faces such as Nada, Charlie (omega), Fen, Ama, Skip... I saw a couple but not much.

I've been meaning to ask Andrew linden... can I build my friggin car yet?!!? you told me 1.1!

So how are all the projects going? Darkwood... is that still around? Did someone pawn my lightsaber? My crotch rockets, fireworks? ICBM sim crashers? I wonder if my clock that tells Linden time is still around?

Anyways back to the books, I'll be checking in later!

Hey Nash. It HAS been a long time.

It turns out that we did get some vehicle functionality into the 1.1 release. It didn't actually make the feature-freeze deadline, but everybody else decided to not notice this fact while I worked on it rather than fix bugs 100%. Finally, one week before release, when I suggested that the vehicle stuff might not actually be finished in time I was told, "No, that is not an option. If you think it is, then come speak with me (Cory) after this meeting." Needless, to say I got it done

You can now make better rockets and ICBM's than ever.

SL is still changing rather fast and it looks like it will continue to do so. We still have a big long list of features we'd like to implement.

Wow, the Nashmiester!

Well, DarkWood is VERY MUCH still around. In fact, it has a whole DarkWood sim now. And there's a new RPG project called DarkLife centered around it.

Oh, and the veichles are uber l33t, as are the new graphics. (bump mapping and reflections! And a new particle system, too!) Oh, plus Havok 2 is coming soon!

I'm glad to see that you all remeber me! Andrew we have to have a "talk" when I get back in world! You'll know when i'm in world, i'll make something explode\crash\mass IM same difference!

As for getting back, I want to right NOW! My credit card is at hand, but I must not give in tonight! I really can't! So if you see me in world tonight, it's because i'm weak!

MAN!!! I'm so glad you're actually comming back! I have missed the poop outta you! BBC told me in world "DUDE! Nexus Nash is browsing the forums!" and I just about fell off my chair, wondering if you were just lurking or what.

Seriously, I can't wait to see that old avatar in world again, how much it's probably deformed hahahah! Yeah it's probably weird that I miss you but you don't realize how much influence your silly rockets had on my second life.

Anyway, hopefully I can get in-world while you're on. See you then!

As for my name... Well maybe Andrew can help me, I can log in as Nexus Nash on the site AND the forum, all I need to do is enter my credit card number! So if a Linden could check if my name would still work after I enter my numbers, that would be great! I was like... hmm trial... but I want my name back! It's an original! No one is Nash!!! (or you can't be anymore)

I will try to let you guys know when i'm going to be online. So we can all met and trade cards (I'm pretty sure my account\inventory got deleted) I have 4 exams from this saturday (6th) to next saturday. But after that 60 HOURS SL WEEKS!!! lol I don't want to come in before Monday, I have a computer science exam... I would hate to screw that up with SL house code! "WHAT DO MEAN llSetRot() DOSN'T WORK!?!?"

I wanted to ask you guys about scripting, can we build object\classes\librairies?

Um... is their a live chat section like before?
that's it for now, I will be on the forums for a while, i'm "trying" to study but BLAH I hate it!

Sorry Nash, LSL isnt awfully different now. We got a new vehicle API, a new particle system, a few other added commands here and there, and a metric assload of bugfixes, but the language has (fortunately ) not gone OO or anything drastic like that.
With regards to your name, LL usually isnt able to give people back their old names for some reason, even though your old account still works in the forums. Separate DBs, prolly.
You could just be NexusNash Lippmann or something.

Well, I can still log in on the "your account" page every is still there BUT the credit card #. So if I enter the card number they will bill me, so my account "should" be active!

Bug fixes are good! and the vehicle thingy. I tried to make a dune buggy and a car (for those who remeber) I got it to climb the mountains in the outlands, but it could only gor forwards and wheels would sometimes "explode". So I hope i'll be able to find a way to implement streering and what not.

Hey Nash what is up?
Seems all the old beta folk are all wanting to come back to SL. I am just wating till I am done this term before I get in. College must come first, 1st life comes second, then this. If you don't remember me back from the good old beta days, I was the guy that did projects like the Boom Boom Box, Neocron Project, and the Fifth Element Taxi. I wonder if someone still has that model....meh.

*Reads fourms and gets teary eyed*

Ya the only problem with that is that I got to make the model again. That thing was a B**CH to make, that and my Minority Report Lexus Car. I think the 5th Taxi was a total of 32 objects in total, and the Lexus was about 80.

Ya I can't wait to try it with the new added script. Good thing I took a java course this term, casue this coding is so much simpler to make stuff from now than it was from before.

Can't wait to get in as soon as I can. Oops got to get back to the books, 5 exams this Mon-Thur.
