When is it best to live in a civilization?...
During its acendancy, when there is promise of future growth but day to live is hard or during its decline, when decadence has taken hold and stagnation reigns but with an altogether easier lifestyle?

Having never experienced life in an ascendant civilization, it's hard to say for sure. Though it would be interesting to witness the dying breaths of a once-great nation, and to observe the birth of a new ideal, I suspect that life would be hard. The land would be awash with anarchy, yet there would exist small havens of peace and tranquility. These beautiful little communities would be the seeds from which civilization would spring anew. I would very much like to live in such a time. I would love to sit in the garden of the world, and nurture those newly born plants as they blossom into beautiful flowers.
I feel as if we are now merely sitting here, gazing at the wilted petals of a flower past its prime. The vibrant hues of the past have faded, leaving only faint memories of prior glory.

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!
