In the wee hours last night, about 4 AM SL time, I started to wonder why the sky felt so green to me. I have observed many beautiful sunrises and sunsets in the gridverse, but now the horizons were... very greeny.

Today when I logged on, I noticed the same thing. Peculiar, to say the least! I relogged several times to make sure this was not a one-off, and sure enough, as far as my av-eyes could envision, vert was the color du jour of le ciel.

Who else sees these green skies? :)

I think it means storms are coming. Or is that red sky ("at night...sailors delight..." something like that).

IRL, a red sky in the morning usually means storms that day... a green sky ISL is an indicator that heavy lag is on the way. You should board up your windows and take shelter!

Skies appear to be... "back to normal" -- as much as I enjoy the abnormal, hehehe. Alright, I don't think it was just my eyes playing tricks on me -- I should have taken pics -- who else has seen a blue moon? ;)

I have at times seen the green sky in SL, seems to come and go.

IRL, it means hail (usually considerable) is on the way. Something to do with sunlight refracting through the hailstones or so I was told. When I was in grade school the whole sky to the west turned green and we were treated to silver dollar diameter hail for about 10 minutes. Not fun, broken windows on most homes, shingles on roofs pockmarked and in some cases ruined, cars with 100s of tiny dents :(

No hail ever in SL please!

The blue moon is pretty!!! I have seen it :D

Actually when the Lindens are finished with the bug-fixing era of SL, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for them to add random weather. Sunny days, light rain, snow, the rare tornado, and of course my favorite...THUNDERSTORMS (I love you Ben Linden :D)

Like SL nighttime, we would be able to turn weather off from the debug menu.

Very weird things are happening in SL. Personally, I think it's global warming.

A tornado to tear a path of destruction across multiple sims, flinging players about and randomly rearranging prims, furniture, parts of buildings tossed about..... it would all reset at some point, but it'd be cool as hell!

I've made one already. It's actually the source of one of my only two negative ratings (since I lost it in testing in a sandbox  ). Suffice it to say, I don't release it.

Thread Hijack: Weather/Natural Disasters, Second Life. If limited to a sim specifically, how would people feel about it? In general?

I'm also rallying for custom skybox support/world clouds by plot. You can view my suggestions here.

Its swamp gas, weather balloons or passing aircraft. Its not, repeat not, extraterrestrial visitors.

(looks over shoulder) Ok, I did my part. Now, please, don't mutilate those cows or probe anyone...

Could be a club with lots of green lighting just over the horizon too.

Some pretty SL moons... and a flailing, falling daemon me. :D

And OMG if they put thunderstorms in SL, I'm moving there permanently. :)

Oh yeah... that whole red sky in the morning/evening thing is referring to the sky overhead, not the sky on the horizon. :)
