Today some of us in the world celebrate the birth of some guy named Jesus.

Even though the celebration is off a few days (he was really born closer to January), and not everyone believes in him (or that he even existed), we should all get together and wish each other a Happy Christmas.

So, from me, Josh "Lordfly Digeridoo" Eikenberry, I wish you all a very happy, calm, and productive holiday season.

Josh

Actually biblical scholars say Jesus was born in May or April.

I had a friend in There who submitted a shirt for consideration to be sold in-game (that's right, you have to submit all user-created items for approval before they are ever brought in-world) that had the standard, westernized picture of Jesus and the logo "WANTED: Dead or Alive For Crimes Against Humanity." It was, of course, rejected by the There powers-that-be. I need to make that shirt in SL and send her a picture, just to get her goat. :)

And the holiday known as Christmas that is celebrated on December 25th is more closely aligned with Saturnalia, an old Pagan/Roman holiday that the Roman Catholics usurped for their own usage. (And millions of Buddhists, Jews, Muslims, etc. around the world probably couldn't care less... )

Happy Holiday season, whichever you celebrate. If it's "none of the above" then just have a happy and safe December.

Happy holidays to all of you, and may you all be blessed doubly for not turning this thread into a religious flame debate :p
I wish you all a Merry Christmas, because that is the perspective from which i celebrate the holiday. Tomorrow is the day to remember how very very very blessed we really are, and to be thankful for it in whatever fashion suits you....and I dont think you particularly need religion of any sort to participate in that. :)
Matter of fact, it doesnt even need to be Christmas to participate in that...I guess in that sense, the childhood wish for every day to be like Christmas can indeed come true. :D
Love you all, and wish you the best. :)

Happy holidays to all! I hope the new year brings happiness and good fortune to all SLers and the the Lindens of course, but only Scrooge and the Grinch for There dwellers. Hehehee :)

The Romans incorporated many pagan holiday dates, symbols, etc. They tried to force the pagans to wholly and fully accept Roman Catholithism, but were unsuccessful after many years of trying, so they absorbed some of it into their own doctrine. Not trying to hijack Lord I swear!

MELE KALIKIMAKA!

"If I cannot bring you comfort
then at least I bring you hope
for nothing is more precious
than the time we have and so. . .
We must learn from small misfortunes
count our blessings that are real
Let the bells ring out for Christmas
At the closing of the year"

The above sentiment seems both appropo for Christmas (which I neither promote or demote) and especially, our recent 1.2 issues.

Happy Holidays, and hang in there. It's all gonna turn out so much better than even the most optimistic of us are hoping for :D

I hope that everyone has a fun, happy and safe holiday season outside of SL... you can't get hurt in SL (except for damage-enabled areas), so spend your free time in SL :D

Bye bye for now,
