Hi. I'd like to publically announce a project called "Brigadoon." It's a project in Second Life for people dealing with Asperger's Syndrome and Autism. We have a blog site here: http://braintalk.blogs.com/brigadoonClick on the "click here for an introduction" on the site to get all the details. We look forward to any input or feedback from the Second Life community. Thank you for your time. Take care, -John

What's to deal with? I have AS and it's just part of me. There's no problem - everyone's different to everyone else, and I'm no exception.

Second life as i have observed isn't well suited for people with Autism and AS, i have personally been banned three times due to mis-understandings and things i cannot understand due to having this minor ailment, it seems that whenever i talk to people they just shout at me, i can't see this being much help. I advise you all get a psychologist, because i have one and she says i am booshank and i say she is booshank (which is street slang, it means good). Because we are both booshank we get along and she can help me with my problems. I don't advise going into an online game for help because us Booshank AS people generally don't have a good touch with reality as it is. Before you all take this the wrong way, STATE WHY you have taken it the wrong was so i can tell you why it is illogical.

There are varying degrees of severity, you don't need to listen because clearly yours is so minor you are only borderline and some countries may consider you as not even autistic.

Please take your arguments offline. This thread is for people discussing their thoughts and ideas on how to use Second Life productively to help people dealing with issues of Asperger's/Autism.
Thanks.

Thanks. Mr. Biggles seems to have an issue with anyone he sees as "not as autistic" as him ...

John,
Thank you for your efforts - I think it is a great idea, and one that has tremendous potential. Second Life has special rewards and challenges for people dealing with a variety of conditions, including autism/aspergers. I have encountered some very negative situations in SL for players dealing with autism, but also had the benefit of seeing the tremendous positive potential for learning and growth. If I can provide any assistance with your efforts, please let me know, and good luck to you.

Why do you keep making these stupid assumptions, i never told you i had a problem with people, and you can't be "not as autistic", stop assuming, i don't understand, and leave what out? what are you talking about, i don't understand, stop making these stupid statements which don't mean anything.

John, I am excited by this, and given the fortunate synchronicity that happened the other day, it was a joy to get a "heads-up" on what's going on. I am going to Bookmark this thread and keep abreast of what is happening. Cheers!

When i get unbanned (i am moving house next week, thus changing ip anyway) i will drop by, now, i hope that there is a tolerant attitude and this isn't a group of people who don't know what they are talking about. If you read the thread where i got flamed earlier you'll notice most people are too ignorant to even put one nice comment to you, which i wouldn't respond to anyway but i heard it is a good thing to do if you are an idiot. I think there should be a Jedi temple (i mean a forum by this) built into your nut house, because Jedi are totally awsome and anyone who doesn't like Jedi is a fool, so there should be at least some star wars sound effects and a hole people can hide in.

I've deleted several posts which were a private and angry discussion between two users which has no place on these forums. If you have something to discuss with another user please take it offline or into Second Life. Thank you.
