I made another video. It's a tribute to my favourite Linden. It's a plain ol' mpg so anyone should be able to play it, but you need BitTorrent to download this file. Get BitTorrent here : http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/bittorrent/bittorrent-3.3.exeAfter you install BitTorrent, click this link to download the movie : http://24.157.156.140/lindentribute.torrentHope you like it

Am I the only one that gets horrible results with bittorrent? Either it doesn't work (I only download from one source and no uploads from me) OR my upload rate is significantly higher than my download rate (pathetic when I'm on a 2.5-3mbs down, 128k up connection).

Its a big file, but it is downloading pretty slowly. I loved Jack's SL Montage Video, so I am going to wait out the slow download.

I had problems with the last version of BitTorrent. 3.3 has been pretty good for me. The download gets a lot faster when more people are downloading. (And especially if people leave their BT windows open after the download completes )

I've not had many problems with bittorent other than alot of files aren't hosted enough. This one went pretty fast with 19-21 kB/s. Awsome video btw Jack, made me laugh I saw you around at one point with that weird avatar and wondered wth you were doing. You did great direction and effects on this

I am going to cry. I am seriously on the verge of crying. That was an awesome video!!!!!!111 That's a real song?! LOL. Man I hope that the guy the tribute is for actually gets his hands on that video, it's the best. Seriously, you did some great editing work, I really love the headbanging part and the old-timey camera trickery. Jack you gotta make more movies!!!

Got a link for us schlubs behind a corporate firewall? I can't fire up bittorrent and have it work here....*sniff*.
Even a FTP that would have it for about 30 minutes would be fine....please?

For all those out there, I'll be helping on seeding this one, its well worth my bandwidth.
Great job, hope to see more,

Um, I **REALLY** hate having to download a downloader. That's like quicktime... Download a downloader that will download the installer that will finally download and install the product...

Bit Torrent is a wonderful way of distributing things and I would recommend it to everyone anyways. It is not coming in screamingly quickly (only one seed at 8kps) but it is coming in.
Darwin, I have had wonderful success with Shadow's Experimental bit-torrent client. Get good download speeds with those that have multiple seeds (downloaded a linux image at about 230/kps earlier today) and it allows you to set the amount of upload bandwidth you want to allocate to it.
/edit: About 6 minutes into it or so, I now have 2 seeds, 1 peer, going at about 60kbs, with about 6k going up.

Hey Jack, Can I have permission port this onto SL itself? That would solve some people's issues with being able to download it, plus it just would be rather neat to have on there. Let me know or IM me if you want to discuss the details.
Awesome work though, either way!

I dont really like bittorrent either but bandwidth is limited. Had 100's of downloads from my tiny little pipe so far which wouldn't have been possible with a direct link.
It should be hosted on fileplanet at some point this week. I uploaded it to fileplanet before posting the link on the forums but fileplanet is slow to process new uploads. (but they offer me unlimited hosting).

Figures, I'm off of work this week - fire up bittorrent at home, and the link fails...
Anyone want to point me to a resource?
Please?

Here you go! Download lindentribute.mpg from FilePlanet Great work Jack! Showed this off at the Linden holiday party. A friend introduced me to that song a year ago... it's a theme song of sorts. I've been a front-line figurehead in online communities for almost five years now, and this is probably the best fan tribute I've received. I'll do my best ot keep my ego in check, though. (Though I need to dance or something while I'm at the Welcome Area...) ;^)

I can't wait to see. My DSL has been out for over a week now but coming back soon. This will definitely be on the top of the list of things to download after I get my connection back.
