The balance right now is L$76,073!!!

The response has been overwhelming, and people have offered to continue hosting events after this 24-hours finishes at noon game time. Look out for events at the Brimstone kicking off straight after we finish!

There's still plenty of time and plenty of events, it would be great to see you there.

folks are better than we give them credit for. people like to help, but dont always know how. when given a chance i'm amazed, sl residents always shine!!!

i decided while it may not be that much compared to others, anything i make in sales this weekend i will give to the fund. i'd like to challenge other vendors to do the same. one weekends sales isnt that much of a personal loss, and cumulatively it will add up fast!

come on ya'll!! lets do our lil parts-- they neeeeeeeeed us!! what if it was your family there~ think of the kids without anything now~ including parents! lil bits add up~ no one can do it all, but collectively we can make a difference!!

Send the US$ cash to Linden Lab, who will cut a "big cardboard check" and donate it to the specific RL charity on behalf of your group and the SL community.

I dont think LL should give the money... They didnt help raise the money (as far as I know). Maybe if they donate a considerable amount

And it wasnt just Jinny's group. Neither was it the whole SL community. I know some ppl that didnt want to donate... and that's their choice. I respect that.
Some others donated a lot.

Just give it on behalf of "all the contributing SL players"

nods. it is such a simple way to share, give and make a difference. if i didnt pitch in i'm not sure i could live with myself. the news is full of the damage. the children, no water, the utter devistations. we dont have anything below 'third world' to call things, but i think this would classify as 4th world... the bottem. even with years of rebuilding whats happened there will be felt for many decades. rebuilding is gonna be so slow. i just cant not care! i'm gonna keep chucking every penny i make in sales their way until they stop collecting.

Yes we bloody would go after her.... we worked it out that we both did over 30 hours each in the space of about 38hrs to raise what we did....

A BIG ty to all the hosts that helped us, and people that came and supported us and helped us bump up dwell, it will ALL be going in the pot

But, this is a virtual world. How do you really know it actually arrives at a RL charity?

I think it's ok to have a little trust in people occasionally, Hank. Especially since anyone lying about collecting money for charity would have to be a complete $%£&.

I believe jinny is going to sell to private buyers if she can, so as not to lose lindens on the market, then donate the money to the DEC, most charity's give receipts and such like as proof... and I am sure she would be willing to scan it in and make a nice texture for you

Beyond that I dunno how else we could prove it... *shrugs*

Here's what's happening with the money:

I'm going to begin selling it in stages on the GOM over the next few days (under advice from GOM staff).

The proceeds will go to my PayPal account.

All the money in my PayPal account will go to the DEC.

All reciepts and transactions will be posted on my SL blog, address in my sig.

Whether you trust me or not is up to you. My real name and address are available by running a WHOIS on the domain squinny.net.
