Not too surprising, but sad. Back around 1992 AOL was a client of mine. In the tv commercials back then, whenever you saw video of the AOL interface, that was me driving the mouse, hehe. Back then AOL had one of the coolest corporate cultures I'd ever seen. They had keg parties for employees every friday that they called "beer bashes." Department heads requisitioned nerf guns and AOL paid for them and massive nerf wars were common in the hallways. They only had around 250k subscribers then. Over the next few years it went from laid back coolness to huge corporate suckitude. It was sad to watch. I still have friends who work at AOL in VA.
