In case you are wondering what that is it is the practice of providing the least amount of product for the most amount of profit. It only makes sense for a company to maximize their profits up to a point. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out when that point has been reached and LL is edging very close with their 3 hour logins and freezes when you finally get there.
Companies can overcome this and I will mention two diverse ones such as Harley Davidson and the Johnsonville sausage people. Yeah yeah yeah I know the software industry is supposedly different but I see them failing even more often than the others.
Please LL get your heads on straight and give us the product we want instead of fooling around with half baked fixes and "upgrades" that few of us want. Thank you.

From: Susie Boffin In case you are wondering what that is it is the practice of providing the least amount of product for the most amount of profit. i've never had that sense about ll. i think ll delivers far more than they need to make a profit. "aim for the stars, and maybe you'll reach the sky." they set the bar so high that there's lotsa room to complain about stuff. but where they are is quite amazing. they don't always deliver what i want, but they've done pretty well so far. and i do think they've missed some opportunities and gone down some blind alleys, and i hope they fix their mistakes. but they've done a good job. of course they can always do better. but they've done a good job.

I agree, Stone, that LL delivers a good product as far as I can see from the few minutes a day I can actually see it in action. 4 hours and 32 minutes later I still haven't been able to log in. It's really just a matter of resource allocation. If you devote too much of your resources to marketing and development it appears that you get 4+ hour login times. If a company allocates the proper amount of it's resources to their base product they will surely succeed.

SL is growing too quickly for its own good. Therefore, a logical plan of action would be for the folks that are dissatisfied with the service to tier down, give me their lindens, and come back next year. LF
