You know, it occurs to me that people go WAY out to try to get some privacy these days. Overactive security scripts, skyboxes at 700m... And none of these really work very well. The push scripts get on everybody's nerves. A good jetpack can get a peeper to any skybox. And even with privacy fields at ground level, remote camera work kills all that.

It strikes me that many issues are caused by this lack of Privacy. I mean, why bother to have a private place to work (or do whatever) if anybody within 48m can get a camera in with you?

It strikes me that there really needs to be some sort of feature to enable folks to have privacy on their own land, and keep CAMERAS out too. I'd suggest it on the voting system, but that's broked to all heck. So, can't do.

But how about some ideas from people on how to accomplish it?

One idea:
Property Security works up to 40m above the land, then has a right of way break for sky transport, then works again after that up to 768m (Max build area)... And Unallowed AV's CAMERAS ARE BLOCKED too. :P That is the important thing.

Second concept:
Have upper and lower permissions. Since ground-based stuff is one place, and above the RoW is another place on the land to most people, having seperate permissions for both with the above set up would be nice.

Any other ideas?

Well there really isn't a way to keep immature peeking people away. There will ALWAYS be someone chirous to know what those green dots are doing. Unless you burry yourself in a secret underground layer with a million prims over it so that no camera can peek there is no privacy. Not saying that Lindens shouldn't develop some kind of added privacy because everyone wants some form of privacy at some time or another. But just stating both sides of the matter. I think if someone wants to peek they shouldn't react or talk about what they saw because they had no business peeking in the first place. But I know a few people that have had private pictures taken and exploited of them that where taken when they thought they were in a private home. Sometimes there just isn't any privacy in SL. :(
