that vendor permission bug thingy

please clarify a point for me. are the vendors that are resetting permissions on sold items selling copies of themselves, content from themselves, content with llgiveinventory() or some combination of the three?

i'm thinking of adapting my vendors to sell contents rather than use the scripted give because that's an easier interface for the shopper to work with. but i'm afeared of the bug.

From what I have observed and heard from others with the same problem, it seems to be some type of bug regarding inventory stored inside another object - so it affects vending machines and boxes set to sell copies or contents equally. I continue to have ongoing problems with this - I had Phoenix Linden come to my store last week, after several items had changed permissions again. I don't know if the update that fixed the exploit will have any effect on this bug, but I hope so. My advice is whether you sell in a box or sell in a vendor, check the permissions of your items regularly.
