i just started playing second life and i am running the update for the first time...and i was wondering if ne1 knew about how big all of the the downloads are combined...so i kno how long ima be waiting(ex. stare at screen | go watch TV | sleep on it | heh heh heh poor fool) cause im running dial up....

You can't play SL with dialup... broadband only.

You really won't be able to play with dialup....You need a broadband connection.

I use dialup on occasion to access Second Life. It is definately much more work than play. If I'm very lucky, my inventory downloads successfully and I can materialize in my last location. Moving around is very difficult, but I can respond to IM and public chat okay.

wow that is slow...eek...well...i ordered dsl and that should come soon so...ill just like wait...and until then learn to a higher extent the virtue of 'patience' lol.
(it loads the entire client...thats annoing...gr...sloppy setup on their part.... o well thats only like ....-counting-...2 hours on dialup )

Molecular is right. There is only one 22 meg download to play. That is the client software. When Linden Lab issues a new update, it is to replace the client software. So the next update they release will likely be approx. 22 meg as well. At that time, it will replace the existing client software on your machine.
