Yeah...here's something equally stupid. Answer to a test question on what a "complier" is:
A compiler's primary function is to compile, organize the compilation, and go right back to compiling. It compiles basically only those things that require to be compiled, ignoring things that should not be compiled. The main way a compiler compiles, is to compile the things to be compiled until the compilation is complete.

... so long, that is, as the compiler only compiles those things requiring to be compiled by that particular type of compiler. If the compiler attempts to compile something that should not be compiled by that compiler, the compilation will not successfully compile.
