Unlike some,
I'm actually not going to be in game for probably about a week, unless I can pry Jennyfur off her computer. My laptop is having a minor issue, which I could *probably* fix myself, but I really don't feel like voiding to warranty. So back to HP is goes.
The laptop I'm on now can't handle SL. If you want to say hello, hope on the #secondlife IRC channel on EFnet! Hope to see you there. Enjoy your Flip-free week. With my luck, I'll miss the biggest party in the history of Indigo while away!
Love y'all.
-Flip

Aww, and just when I've reached my boredom threshold with World of Warcraft so I can finally get back to SL where it's all warm & fuzzy. Nice timing, buddy.
Seriously though, I hope HP takes care of you, and I hope you can come back soon.

I think we should all redecorate Indigo while he's gone and put up Festivus poles everywhere, and beer cans, and lots and lots of sheep...
then snap pics and drop them on him so he feels all bad and stuff.
FLIPPER COME BACKKKKKK!!!!

Flipper,
What is wrong with your laptop? I repeatedly had a problem with my previous model of the same laptop that had to be repaired - I am curious if you are experiencing the same thing with yours.

Thanks so much for the kind words, amig0s. I'll continue to troll / be a wise ass in the forums and hang on the IRC channel.
Cristiano, I think the problem is with the mechanism that determines whether the laptop is open or closed. Its odd. The screen will be totally black, but that machine will boot fine (as can be told by various sounds). After restarting it and opening / closing the lid 15 times or so, the screen will suddenly spring to life in full glory. Its a very odd problem.
Is that what was happening with yours? It seems to be 100% functional EXCEPT for the screen not kicking in. Definitely not a driver problem or anything, as splash screens and computer specs don't appear, not ever a cursor blinking in the upper left on startup.
Regards,
-Flip

That screen thing happened to a friend of mine. Fortunately, he's way more computer-y than me, so he was able to dismantle it, and re-secure a wire that was loose between the screen and the uhh... other part.

I had a similar problem with a Portable DVD Player I had. I had to send it back to the Manufacturer.

That's what I'm truly hoping it is - something just that simple. Its been just over 24 hours without my laptop, and I already feel like Sid Vicious without heroin!
This old laptop from a few years ago just doesn't cut it anymore.
