Be Careful With Your No-Copy Inventory!

I just lost two items that were no-copy. One was an item which retails in game for 1k - and one was a Deana swap card. (I decided to TEST it on the Deana card after LOSING my 1k object!)

I rezzed them in a sandbox, and then right clicked and hit take. They have not reappeared in my inventory - I've even used search to see if they came up in a different folder - and nothing. They are simply gone. :(

Maybe this is a "just me" thing, but I'm certainly not happy about it.

You should check your Lost and Found folder as well, since sometimes objects appear there. If the object doesn't appear there either, send in a bug report explaining what happened, that way LL is aware of this bug too. :)

in the last version if there was a lot of lag objects occassionaly wouldn't show in your inventory after taking until you relogged. In the new version your inventory doesn't even try to download items until you open the folder their in. there has been a lot of lag do to the update so I'd bet the lag, combined the the new inventory sync method is causing things to show up very slowly and possibly keeping the search function from finding things in folders you haven't opened yet. Bottom line, don't give up quite yet. After a relog, try opening the probable folders and waiting for them to loadand possibly try search again. Good luck :)

Remember your inventory streams now... it takes time to load it all.

This is a known issue:

From: someone
• Your inventory is now streamed in. If open your inventory and it does not show immediately, do not assume it is due to content loss. Please wait a few second, possibly longer during peak hours, for your inventory to download to you over time.
.

Regarding the responses. Thank you guys. However, I would like to point out the following:

I rezzed an object in the sandbox earlier this morning. (Way earlier, we're talking 8:30-something this morning, SL time.) I was checking out the way that edit linked parts worked on no-modify items because I had it pointed out to me that you could see all individual prims properties now, regardless of the status of no-modify. ( Which stinks ... :( ...) I noted this as being true, and then I right clicked and hit take. This was at 8:30-something this morning.

It did not reappear in my inventory after a 5 minute wait, so I rezzed the first thing I could find in my inventory that was no copy that I thought I could replace reasonably easily. A Deana swap card (sorry, Deana! lol). I then right-clicked and hit take again.

Neither of these items are in my inventory now. And it's 4:31 PM SL time now. I have relogged. I have checked lost and found. I have checked the location to see if they are still sitting out there. I have checked everything. I have searched my inventory, even.

These items are LEGITIMATELY lost - which I have said over and over to various people today, and have been told by every single one of them that I have to be patient because my inventory streams now.

So it takes it ... 8 hours to stream? And mind you the items are still not there. I do not mean to be a smartass. I really don't... but, I am reasonably confident that it is not an issue of the inventory not having "arrived" to my end, yet. :(

I agree, same issues..even after a couple log ins hours apart, items were missing.
Will check again of course but thinking there is more to it than just a few minutes' lag.

Please see my responses above. :) I have relogged. Additionally, it has been over 15 hours now.

I agree with Nikki here... something is not quite right...

Before 1.6, I was able to select 39 of my scripted SimCast weapons from my workshop wall, with the backboard as a final 40th item, and take a copy of that into inventory. The backboard is just a prim wall that is named properly to reflect the inventory objects taken along with it.

Now with 1.6, this seems like a really bad thing to do... I have tried the same process well over 20 times with no object appearing in my inventory...

They are not in the Lost and Found, the Trash, or the folder where I rezzed the original weapons cache from. As soon as I select take copy, I get a mouse pointer with an hourglass, and thats it.

I have relogged, waited well over 24 hours, and still nothing...

I even tried making a copy of all the 40 items, and then selecting each one, with the backboard as the last item, and selected take object. Those friggin items disappeared... And guess what! They dont appear in my inventory either!

This is a serious issue and should be addressed immediately... Unless you want to loose your no copy items...

I have submitted a complete bug report with all the details just a few moments ago concerning these issues. I have also posted this in the Hotline to Lindens forum.

Hope no one else learns the hard way

Pathfinder,

Will anyone who has verifiably lost items due to this SL bug be compensated for their loss in any way by LL?

Pathfinder, thank you. I do understand that all of you are most likely as anxious (if not more so) as all of us to get all the various bugs and problems fixed. Also, as I said in my second hotline post, I also understand that all Lindens are probably swamped and frazzled and doing their very best.

I want all of you to know that I appreciate that.

I also very sincerely appreciate you taking the time to respond and let those of us who have experienced this know that you hear us. Thank you
