Hi....I just recently turned a member and before I do something I want to make sure im doing it right. I purchased a house in a box and I wanted to know how do I go about putting it down along with the furniture I got. I was told I need to purchase land or rent land (which im about to do). Will those type of houses and furniture work the same way as if I created it?Meaning will I be able to put down those things I bought and they will work. ?!?!?!
Thank you for your patience with my question. I appreciate all your replies.

Some of the members of SL have made extraordinary houses in a box. You should not have any problem...just check to see how many prims/objects you are allowed to use on the land you are renting. Other than that welcome to SL

Ahem... stop to sell houses in box! Sorry. Another alternative is just to hire your friendly neighborhood architect.. they'd be more than happy to help you build your dream home. LF

As a newbie's point of view, I dont think blackchocolate or (me) would be able to afford any architect with what they are charging lordfly ...

I'll do it for free if you're patient. Adaptable to lo/hi prim.

Wow, thats really nice of you Nolan And blackchocolatebeauty, have you ever gone to the ivory towers before? It was pretty helpful when learning how to create item. Without it, I probably wouldnt know how to arrange the house in a box too. They do look cool There are a lot of prims in there, so why not practise on a sandbox first to see how it looks like

From: rinaz bijoux As a newbie's point of view, I dont think blackchocolate or (me) would be able to afford any architect with what they are charging lordfly ... With a Premium account, you get $L500+ a week. In roughly 1.5/2.0 months saving, you can have a nice house, going by my rates. What are other folks charging?

The last two custom homes I built for people I did for free. The people were happy with my builds and I was fairly happy with how they turned out, so thats whats most important to me. But, Im no Lordfly, he does great work.
You have to becareful with houses in boxes. Many of the older ones have a high prim count and can eat up your 512m prim allotment of 117 pretty fast. But, there are many prim friendly (25+/-) premades that look great. I see premades as temporary housing, they are great til you learn to build for yourself or hire someone to make you something special. If you decide to add a land tier to your membership, you gain prim use and are able to have bigger and/or more detailed builds.
Or, since we dont really need a house to function, you can consider a nice garden and gazebo as an alternative. As long as you have a comfy place to sit around and hosts guests, your golden. The most important thing is to be happy and proud of your land.
Explore the world, get ideas, get inspired. Best wishes and welcome to SL!
