), I'm curious about family history and socio-economic outlook. My parents are/were fairly libertarian (small "l"
and relatively leftist; I'm more so than they. And I know my father's father was a card-carrying Socialist in the 20's and 30's (and married to an ornery and outspoken Republican, lol!). All in all I consider my social and economic views more similar to my parents' than dissimilar, and wonder if that's exception, rule, or neither. So: "Do you consider your overall social and economic outlook more similar or more dissimilar than your parents'?"
Edit: Please take "parents" as a generic, catch-all phrase for whomever filled (or fills) that role for you. Didn't mean to assume "classic nuclear families" with the above wording.
Also, the third option is intended to acknowledge both that social and economic views are not necessarily connected, and that one's childhood influences may be quite varied as well.
