Is that "Mr. Black"?

This thread has led me to decide that we need a last name entitled "Darkness"

Delarien: I usually like to get to know someone a bit more before letting them touch me there, but in your case, I'll make an exception.
Jupe: Yes Ma'am. It is "Mr. Black."
Derek: I'm glad to have inspired. However, if you aren't going to talk to or about me, please refrain from posting in this thread.
Frank: Yes you are. Quick wit, too.
Pandastrong: I've seen better. (See also post to Derek.)

I think Frank Black is a singer for some band or something. He's also the main charater in TV's series Millenium. Good show. Religious zealots killing people. What a novel idea.
Frank Black is officially inducted into Pitch Black's Cool Hall of Fame.

I will attempt to make a post that both involves you and the revelation I have had on this thread by posing a question for you: if you saw the name 'Darkness' instead of 'Black', would you be named 'Absolute Darkness' or would you have picked something else?

Yeah, fine, but nickname?
04-02-2005 19:18
Dear Pitch,
As I'm sure you've discovered on the Grid, nicknames are virtually mandatory. I believe it's a show of camaraderie and fond affection. Or it could be because shortening first names like "Dwabondalazina" to "Dee" in chat can enhance overall sim performance. I don't know; I just got here myself.
Given that "Pitch" is already so concise, I was wondering if you had in mind to pre-emptively publish some overly-familiar nickname for use by your regular associates.
I've tried the obvious things in your behalf, but there's no extra syllable to lop off (I counted twice, since I'm currently taking some excellent cold medicine), and dropping the solitary vowel just doesn't seem to work.

Derek. You're cool. So's Pandastrong. I mean, what a kickass name. "Panda" and "Strong" in one word. Like a Samurai. Or a Big Panda. I love it. Maybe even a big Panda Samurai. Second Life needs the last name "Samurai."
Coolness permeates this thread.
