As a citizen of SL, I like to think that SL has not, infect, degraded into the next evolution of the AOL chat rooms. (or yahoo chat rooms, take your pick). I'd hope that this grand rehersal that will result in the Metaverse isn't slowly becoming another place for the bored and idle to come and play tringo or show up for 'naked avie' contest. I hear people complaining that's all there is in the Events anymore. You see, daily, maybe one or two original events anymore.

God forbid you try to host an actual intelligent discussion without so much as a money ball and expect people to show up.

Starting Tuesday I will be reactivating a group I started to solve this problem back in December, SecondLife Underground (S.L.U.G.) will begin posting daily events at random parts of SL with original objectives.

I need people to help with the following:
- Locate original builds of interest to be scouted for events/tours.
- Locate skyboxes and hidden areas in SL not meant for general access.
- Figure out what sims don't take well to vehicle scripts (for planning race routes)
- Come up with interesting events and challenges using said original builds.
- Security. I expect to be intervened upon by people we end up ganking dwell from.
- Securing permission from land owners to hold events that may or may not leave their places in shambles or crash the sim (by AV overload, of course).
- People who are on SL daily to organize and host events and maintain operations.

What will S.L.U.G. be doing tomorrow? I can't tell you yet. Leave me an IM in-game with any questions. I will be dropping events into the system as little as thirty minute beforehand, so keep looking.

May the complete turning of SL events on it's ear begin!

If FIC wants to team up with the currently one-man group called SLUG, that's cool too.

i try to put on events that are different from the run of the mill and would support anyone trying to do the same. With that said, I must say that if nekkid dancing and tringo are what people want they like will probably have it, since once the sites are set up they seem fairly easy to maintain. People will eventually fall away from these actvities if they become bored with them or the events are oversaturated on the list, leaving a few to operate and specialize in that niche. It sounds like 1.6 will feature a wealth of porno theaters...lol.
