I have always liked Selador's sig line and think a thread based on it is in order.

I will start it out.

"This is a personal attack!"

This is SO overused and misused. It seems that just about anytime someone takes issue with someone else on the forums, this one is tossed out there. Simply disagreeing with someone does not a personal attack make. I do realize personal attacks go on, however, I still think it's misused a lot.

"The internet is serious business."

This one is the grand daddy of all excuses for anti-social behavior. Ridicule the person being griefed by implying they take "teh interweb" too seriously, and/or has no RL. The ironic part is, those that employ this one usually ring up all their cohorts and get them to come in and mass post as a group entity, all the while claiming to be victims of unfair group association.

"Witch hunt."

Some self appointed forum policemen lurve this one to death. Used when someone points out bad behavior, justifiably or not. I am not really sure why. If they don't like Witch hunts; why get involved? In my experience they can't stop one once it's started anyway and come off sounding like Barney Fife.
