There is an individual with at least two alts who runs a group whose members are sending hostile IM's to me though I don't believe I have ever said a word to them. I believe this is because of the belief spread by the group leader that filing Abuse Reports constitutes Avatar Murder, and I have apparently been convicted in the court of this person's mind on the charge of being an abuse report filing avatar murderer.

So, I'd like to see a discussion of the pros and cons of abuse report filing and whether or not filing an abuse report is some kind of terrible action that prevents some kind of wonderful free digital society from coming into being.

We are urged to report abuse if someone is preventing us from enjoying SL. I dont abuse report lightly, I can take being insulted or whatnot, but if they continue to press me, to the point it is a nuisance, I will report abuse without a thought of remorse. I look at it as a public service, if someone wants to harass me, chances are they are doing it to others, if left unreported, their behavior will continue and they will see it as acceptable.

It is more like suicide, not murder.

I propose my cannon line idea...

Everytime you file an abuse report on someone, they get put in a line, this line leads to a cannon, in which the avatar is put in, and shot head on into a wall.

Every additional abuse report moves that person up ahead in line (like cutting).

If the person has already been shot out of the cannon, they are reentered in line.

Once you hit the wall you are banned for a day, and lose one Cannon point. (you get 3)

When you hit 0, you "die" for a month or so.

Pros: Cannon fun for all!

Cons: Icky cleanup for LL Janitors.

Seriously though, no you're not killing anyone, yes its more like suicide (unless you go around abuse reporting everyone for no reason, then its just being a dick). Don't let anyone get you down, what you do is what you do and if you feel its nessisary thats your personal thingy mahoo.
