In case you have seen a mass of people with the title "Vin Fiz," do not fear. It's a new project/idea of mine. If you need something done, wanna chat, want to ask a question, or anything really, you can just "Vin Fiz," or do a group IM. If you get invited, then you can join if you wish. Or not.

Activities of a Vin Fiz?
So far apparently it's being a corporate soft drink whore and raiding There for victims, er, converts. How many to go before we're the biggest silly-title group? |

If you want your "nizzle" fizzled just go back and take another look at those awful links Darwin posted in another thread. (You know the one.)
I like the sound of a Vin Fiz. Very bubbly. You can be sure that I vinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn until I fizz. ![]() |

Darwin, I've been wondering. Does Vin Fiz have more to do with soft drinks, airplanes, completing a project for the simple satisfaction of finishing it or none of the above? As I'm a pilot and fairly deaf, I wasn't confused by the group name at least...

Wee I'm in the Vin Fiz group. I feel so chosen!
I didn't know what that group is about but "completing a project for the simple satisfaction of finishing it" is right up my alley. _____________________

Heh, ok let me clear up some cofusion:
Vin Fiz is a global communication and Q/A system. If you want to ask a question, just do a group IM and you'll get TONS of people. Litteraly tons (unless there are some really lightweight people in the session). It's a great way to get a project together, to get an answer fast, organize an event, and so on. It's called Vin Fizzing for something, and it really is helpful. Anyone who isn't part of the Vin Fiz network and wants to be, post here. We've got 82 members and counting, so you'll definetly get your answers ![]() _____________________

Ah, so Vin Fiz is all about tasty spam rather than classic and obscure sodas. Thanks for clearing that up!

Vin Fiz History
10-07-2003 09:08
So, things we do when bored at work, I just googled "Vin Fiz."
Here's a fun fact: In one of the first examples of corporate sponsorship, the Vin Fiz company underwrote the first ever transatlantic flight, by a guy named Calbraith Perry ("Cal" Rodgers in 1911.Quoting: "J. Ogden Armour, a Chicago meat packer, was willing to sponsor Rodgers in return for advertising his new grape soft drink "Vin Fiz." Rodgers printed Vin Fiz on the rudder and under-wing areas of the plane, and Armour paid him three to five dollars for each mile flown, providing a total of $23,000. Armour also provided and outfitted a three-car support train, which would prove vital to Rodgers' success." The story is quite neat, one of the Burns's should make a documentary out of it. Meanwhile, an essay and photos of the "Wright Flyer EX Vin Fiz" are located at Centennial of Flight.Gov -Jay |
