umm..last night I got the wierdest phonecall. She said her name was Laurie and she asked for me by name. I don't know any Lauries. Do I? Should I? I asked her what was up and she didn't say, just waited on the line. I said I couldn't place her and she said she couldn't place me, either. After a bit, she said goodbye. Am I in a David Lynch movie?

Interesting. I've had a couple weird phonecalls in my time, but usually through actual system glitches.

One time my phone rang, and when I picked up and said, "Hello?" I was greeting with an extremely elderly woman shouting "Hello?! HELLO?!?!" into my ear. After a spat of severe confusion, I discovered that both of our phones had rang simultaneously and neither of us knew each other.

Another time, something got crossed in the line and my little chat with my girlfriend at the time suddenly became a chat with some girl named Crystal. Apparently, her boyfriend and my girlfriend had also been connected together. Probably should have taken that as a match-making sign from God or something.

That's funny you say that.

One time, a couple years ago, I picked up my phone to dial someone and there was a faint voice behind the dial tone. I waited til it went away and it was this girl. Oddly enough, we held a conversation for atleast 2 hours and my cordless phone died and I never got her real number. I just thought it was weird I could strike up a long conversation with a complete stranger. Kinda like in SL..

Our phone system is so old and glitchy, I'm often amazed it works as much as it does.

I've had sever occourences where I pick up the phone to call someone and they are already on the line, without me dialing, without the phone ringing, just WHAM, there. Often they dialed to call me but didn't hear a ring. Once they just picked up the phone to call, but didn't dial, same as me.

As for Laurie... ask her where she knows you from? Where is she calling from? What the date is? (could be a ghost) What is she calling for?

If she calls again that is.

Did she sound hot?

Also try *69ing her phone number next time she calls, once you got that you can pretty much find out who she is, online theres alot of White Pages websites and such to look up numbers (as long as its not a private number).

Hopefully she didn't use *67 before dialing.

sok phones are safe try being in a grocery store or Wal mart and a complete stranger walk up and start talking to you like they know you. Has happend a lot lately was even stopped at a red light by a Highway Patrolman just to find out that I wasnt who he thought I was.

But the funny thing is I must have more than one dopple ganger cause the list of names that I am suppose to look like is up to 4 now.

My weirdest overheard phone call would have to be when my buddies Radioshack remote controlled robots batteries died and it started picking up the mobile phone next door... guy and his gf were... erm... 'cybering' we laughed for hours. (he was so bad at it)
