Ok.
We took Afghanistan. We took Iraq. We are now on either side of Iran, positioned perfectly for a two-front assault on the country. And this surprises you? _____________________

No not really, doesn't surprise me at all, just wondering how much of a tolerance the world has before they start taking actions against us.

This is not news. I hate to say that but it is very true. This was on the boards before Afghanistan.

And now Iran has infiltrated the Iraqi government. Much to the chagrin of Pres Bush a once secular regime will now be a Shiite fundamentalist regime despite all the pro-democracy propoganda. Glad to see we worked out the kinks in this theocratic debaucle ![]() _____________________
One of the most fashionable notions of our times is that social problems like poverty and oppression breed wars. Most wars, however, are started by well-fed people with time on their hands to dream up half-baked ideologies or grandiose ambitions, and to nurse real or imagined grievances.

I was betting two years ago this was going to happen.

I don't agree about the apathy part, the turn out for your election was the highest since 1968 and the majority voted for your man. Bush has been talking about the 'axis of evil' for years and did warn that America would take action. So I would say that most people in your country know where it's going. Whether or not they are happy with it all, I don't know.

So how many wars is it going to take for the world to react to us in the same form that any other power that has done this? I'm guessing Iran (when we do go to war), will be the breaking point and the world won't tolerate it.
I'm bracing myself on this one. _____________________

anyone want to move to Amsterdam?
PS - i believe "W" was elected again for one main reason, people realized that if Kerry had gained the office, we would have been COMPLETELY screwed! imagine that guy trying to handle the pile of crap we've managed to wiggle ourselves into? the world may have been laughing at us, but with Kerry.. i think they would have started shaking their heads, "i feel so sorry for them". hopefully, Bush will use a little common sense to realize the administration is starting to literally push the buttons of other countries and get the hell out of dodge as soon as we can! _____________________

Well I don't think that many people actually did vote for Bush. The sad thing is that nobody can legitamize such a claim since no electronic votes produced a receipt of each vote. So technically, the US just ran an illegal election and barely anyone noticed. As for Iran, Syria and how much more will the world let happen? A good portion of the world's population is pacified. The average citizen of almost any country is far more concerned with themselves and perhaps their families than to actually get involved in protests and acts of civil disobedience. The likeliness of a civil revolt by the American people against the decisions of their government is laughable. With the typical response to protest, riot squads and swat teams would disperse any protest and make arrests. The only way for a protest to be successful in todays climate is to protest actively in numbers... and that kind of organization hasn't really happened since the sixties. In 2005 the average person is more likely to tell you to shut up than discuss politics with you. They'd rather duck their head in the sand, keep their opinions to themselves, and at most do nothing about any of it. So yeah... I guess the machine will continue it's march and go to Iran. Then who knows? Maybe Syria or Lebanon. Eventually it will march against everyone if they really think that they're the centre of the global universe and are the rightful rulers of Planet Earth! Whatever happened to North Korea? Oh they are just whoring -- "Ooooh look at us with our powerplants, depleted plutonium and rockets the fly over Japan!! oooohh C'mon, spank us, we know you want to!" My mother always told me that nothing good ever came from going after a slut. We should be going after those who are being coy -- those that show us just a peek of the WMD lace slip from beneath the dress... just a hint of the shapely curve of nerve gas pressing up against the sheer blouse...... Somewhere like say --- Botswana... North Korea is just flashing it's titties for Mardi Gras beads... and I for one want nothing to do with a country like that! Siggy. _____________________
