Tonight we're having our first organized meeting to discuss creating an AIDS Memorial Quilt display in Second Life (8pm, Zoe 215,46). The meeting will be both to tell people how to create a panel for the SL quilt, and to discuss what to do with the event and display. If you have ideas about the event or just want to find out what others are thinking, please come join use. Also, I'll be looking for a couple people to help with the event itself.
My thinking on the event so far:
1) We'll have a week long display starting on 12/1, World AIDS Day
2) I already have plenty offers of land to have the event, up to an entire sim if we get 10,000 panels.
3) We can have other displays and artwork at the event, either in memory of people or not. Looking for artists who want to create or display work.
4) After the World AIDS Day event, we'll set up a small long-term display showing a subset of panels in rotation. We can also have periodic large displays.
5) It would be cool to have a fundraiser along with the event, though there's a lot to do to get that to work.
