With the removal of taxes on land and objects. I may have missed it at some point but is there to be a removal of tax on using the 'Light' option on objects or will be retained in some way (ie - 3 prim count for using a light source or something)?

They have stated that height tax and light tax have both been removed, I don't know if they will impose restrictions some other way.

They will remove both Height and Light taxes, but I don't think it's going to be as big of a problem as people think. First of all, most people don't turn on Local Lighting (in preferences) so Light objects don't affect them that much. And most people won't use lighted objects much anyways.
As far as height goes, we'll probably see a boom in higher builds, but it probably won't be anything major. Probably won't see very many tall towers, and if we do, they'll probably be taken down quickly. Even though with the fact that most people get a smaller land allotment, we may see tall builds just so people can use all of their prims. But i guess we'll just have to see.

If you simply want to use all your prims you don't have to build tall... just use smaller prims. Most builds in SL are WAY larger than the defined scale, (mostly as a result of our avatars being to big..).

Well the only reason as I said was because there is that option to use Light instead of Wood on a created object. The benefits of it being easier to see in either night or daytime. This is good for pictures as well as special displays, again for example: Christmas lights. They look great at night time. I just didnt know if there was to be any special restrictions or not on the option.
I agree in the respect that there will be sky palaces opening but when they find they fly into things faster (definitely dont recommend sky palaces in Jessie for obvious reasons) they may decide otherwise.

I think we'll see more builds at greater height but I don't think we'll see much in the way of towers. It's a pain to move between floors in SL. Either you use a lot of space and prims making a ramp or stairs system that doesn't crowd the camera or you make a complicated and time consuming elevator ride. It's almost not worth it for the average lot size.
