There have been a few changes to the Kissling Cathedral and its resident prayer candles. Visitors will notice that while the candles are still there, the cathedral is not- i derezzed it so that the candles, which are on autorezzers, coudl actually rez when someone enters the property. i felt the candles and thier messages were more important than the building that housed them, so it was an easy decision. The cathedral will return however, and the current candles will eventually be moved to that spot. For the time being though, i regret that is is not possible to rez any more candles in the kissling location... indeed, all the ones that currently exist cannot all be rezzed. my apologies for this to those that have placed candles there, and those that have tried and were unable. I am currently in the process of relocating some of the candles to chartruese, and have set up an alternate station there for the lighting of new candles. This new location is in chartruese in the corner bordered by bisque and mauve. If you would like to place a candle, I welcome you, and look forward to seeing this collection of thoughts and prayers grow as diverse and touching as the colection in Kissling. I want to thank Francis Chung for her dedication to this project, and the long hours she has spend making it better than what i ever thought it could be. To all who have placed candles, may you be blessed and your prayers heard. Thank you so much for your participation, and your heart. -Neph

I stumbled upon the cathedral one day a week or so ago.
You're doing a very nice thing there and I was surprisingly touched. I will be back to visit again.

a thought about the prim limits for the kissling cathedral
what about instead of everyone placing a candle, having somesort of sign/board with what people want to say? People would submit what they want to remember to you, and then that way there'd only be a few candles to rez?
I don't know how to do the above, but maybe it would help with costs?

thats a good idea camille im not sure either how exactly that could be implemented, but its definitely worth considering. We are tossing around solution ideas currently, I estimate we should have something figured out by around the 4th of Jan, and implemented by the 12th. Also thank you Camille for your contribtutions, I hope that you and yours have a happy and wonderful holiday in spite of the troubles that exist. Maggie, thank you so much. It is heartening to know that people are touched by what they see there, as i am equally touched by the trust invested by the petitioners in setting up thier requests. Neil and I will be with my family in Georgia from the 25th to the 3rd. We'll be checking in here in the forum, but I doubt we will be able to log in. I wish all of you a joyful and safe holiday, and much love to you. -Neph

I had thought that the 'Temporary on Rez' flag was created for just this sort of thing. Does it not help the situation? My impression was that things marked with that flag would not count against your prim limits, and thus you could rez as many candles as you needed.

hmm, im not sure ama, honestly i just havent had the time to investigate that option. i am wary of it though, as i do not fully understand how it works. but thank you for the suggestion, and i'll look into getting my questions towards it answered, as it could indeed be the perfect solution.

I am/was a really, really, really big fan of the cathedral, and all it stood for. In my infrequent sign-ins I'm a frequent visitor; I really found comfort in lighting the unlit candles, as strange as it is for me to admit that in real life. I'll be looking out for them.

Daem, The bulk of the candles are still in Kissling, and will remain there until at least the 4th. If you want to light a new candle, there is a stand in Chartruese near the mauve/bisque border. Thanks, and I am very very glad you have enjoyed the cathedral. It will be back soon, and much prettier (and more smartly built! ;p ) than before. -Neph

neph, im me when you get back inworld in january. i don't need all my kissling prims for fate square. i have no idea how prim sharing does or will work, but if it'll help, i'll contribute some to the cathedral.
